This is the camp for girls who are serious about horses! There will be plenty of time on horseback, but campers will also spend time doing barn chores, learning techniques, and observing training sessions. If your camper is ready to become a real cowgirl, this is the camp for her!
**PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT the beginner camp formerly known as Horseplay. If your camper is a beginning rider, or prefers horseback games and trail rides over an educational horse week, please consider registering for the Maverick or Senior High Horse Focus.

Echo Ranch is located 40 miles north of Juneau. The highway stops at Echo Cove and our camp sits 2 miles around the shoreline along side Point Bridget State Park and Berners Bay. Visitors and Campers must walk. Be prepared to make the walk along the shore by wearing hiking shoes or rubber boots. If you are unable to walk around the cove for medical reasons please contact us so that we can make special arrangements.
Because of our location we must generate our own power. The generator runs 24 hours a day and provides energy to the main buildings at base camp. CABINS DO NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY. All of the cabins contain a wood stove to help provide heat. Please remember to bring a flashlight.
Horse Camp facilities include a cabin, a barn, and outhouses. We eat our meals in a small shelter outside the main Dining Hall.
Echo Ranch would like to express it's gratitude to the U.S. Forest service for its cooperation in making these trips and other camper experiences possible.
