Avant Ministries Statement regarding Bradley Reger
August 15, 2023
We are grieved by any report of sexual abuse of children, as the welfare and safety of children
are paramount to the principles, policies and practices of Avant Ministries. If any allegations
arise that do involve our ministry, we intend to respond responsibly and compassionately.
Although the criminal charges filed against Bradley Reger concern activities at a church in
California, not Echo Ranch Bible Camp (ERBC), we recently learned that alleged abuse may
have taken place at ERBC.
In response, Avant Ministries immediately contacted law enforcement agencies in accordance
with our organization’s Child Safety Protection Policies and Procedures and in compliance with
standards set by the Christian Camp & Conference Association and the Child Safety &
Protection Network.
In compliance with these standards, we maintain a robust program of screening and training
for workers and volunteers, and formal procedures for reporting child safety concerns.
Avant Ministries also has a Child Safety Team on staff that oversees the implementation of
these protocols and responds to any reports of abuse or breach of standards.
In the 1970’s and sporadically over years that followed, Mr. Reger volunteered at ERBC. He is
not, however, and has never been, an employee nor a commissioned member of Avant
Ministries. In light of these issues, we have barred him from any affiliation with Avant
Ministries, including being on Avant property.
