Echo Ranch Disc Golf
Our 18-hole disc golf course was created in 2023, and we welcome the public to come play when the course is open! The course begins near the entrance of Echo Ranch, winds through the camp grounds with 6 holes located within our main camp area, then heads out to the valley and woods behind Echo Ranch near Cowee Creek Trail for the remaining 12 holes. We’re excited to invite you out to come try this new course! Please read below for details on how and when you can come play!
To play the full 18-hole course:
Although camp is now “shut down” for the winter, our disc golf baskets stay up year-round, and you are welcome to come play anytime!
You can access the start of the course by hiking around the west side of Echo Cove (approximately 2 miles). When you round the cliff by our camp sign, turn left at the fork in the road toward the stairs that lead up to our zipline. Across from the stairs, there will be a sign indicating the start of the disc golf course. Please take note of the guidelines listed below before you begin to play.
You can also access the course by hiking Cowee Creek Trail all the way down to where it meets our property (approximately 2 miles). If you continue down the trail, the first basket you encounter will be for hole 11. Refer to the map above to find whichever hole you want to start with.
A few other guidelines to keep in mind for your visit:
While all of the baskets are in place and the tee offs are marked, we plan to build more tee pads as well as more signage with directions. These are still in progress, so stay tuned and don’t be afraid to ask one of our staff for information!
There will be a radio callbox by the start of the first hole. (Note: callbox is not up during the winter.) When you arrive, please use the callbox to let our staff know that you are onsite to play disc golf so we are aware of your presence.
Please do not drive any motor vehicles into the camp grounds (past the camp sign).
We have winter caretakers who live at camp throughout the winter to keep it up and watch over the grounds. Don’t be afraid to say hello or ask for directions if you’re having trouble navigating! Please also be mindful to watch out for staff vehicles which are driven on the roads at camp.
Please feel free to use any trash cans you come across in camp; otherwise, please pack out any trash. (Note: there are no trash cans up in the winter, so plan to pack out all your trash.)
We have many horses that roam our grounds, sometimes with riders and sometimes unattended. Please be aware of the horses whether you are in camp or out of camp, as they can wander or take riders anywhere along the disc golf course. For your safety, please keep your distance from the horses; do not touch or feed the horses.
If you bring a dog onto our grounds, we ask that you leash your dog for its safety. Our horses could be anywhere on our property, and horses and dogs may spook one another.
